US Consul in Barcelona, Katie Stana, discusses diplomatic and consular relations at Barcelona Bar Association
The Reception Hall of the Palauet Casades, the historic headquarters of the Barcelona Bar Association (henceforth, ICAB), hosted a face-to-face conference by the Honorable Consul of the United States of America, Katie Stana, under the title “Diplomatic and Consular Relations” in Barcelona this Monday, May 23th, 2022.
Stana, a career diplomat, was appointed US Consul General in Barcelona last January and has extensive international experience in Washington, Pakistan, Italy, Turkey and Uruguay, among other destinations.
This conference was the inaugural lecture of the ICAB Postgraduate in Diplomatic and Consular Law and was open to members in general.
The event was attended by the Vice Dean of the ICAB, Susana Ferrer, and the academic director of this training, Jorge Luis Collantes. The presentation was also attended by the Secretary of the Corporation, Joaquim de Miquel Sagnier, and the member of the Governing Board responsible for Institutional Relations, Rosa Peña.
The ICAB Postgraduate Degree in Diplomatic and Consular Law, now in its sixth edition, aims to provide legal training in diplomatic and consular relations, which is why it has a teaching staff made up of diplomats, university professors from different disciplines, and professionals of the judiciary.
