Young European Lawyers Academy

ICAB, together with the Academy of European Law (ERA), forms a consortium in the "Young Lawyers European Academy" (YELA) project.

Goal

The main objective of the project is to raise awareness of the transversal areas of EU law and to be able to contribute to the effective and consistent application of EU law among young lawyers in private practice across Europe.

This project will organize a series of ten-day intensive courses in English in Trier (Germany), offering initial training to 30 young lawyers per group on EU law. It will provide a platform for the exchange of good practice, information and knowledge by creating close contacts between young lawyers from different EU Member States.

Why should you apply?

Each course consists of thirteen sessions which will be practice-oriented and offer a combination of training methods, ranging from lectures to group exercises presented by EU and national legal experts, including lawyers with experience in private practice.

This will include visits to the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Expenses

Accommodation will be provided, as hotel costs in both Trier and Strasbourg are reserved and paid for by the ERA. Participants will stay at Hotel Deutscher Hof Trier*** and Novotel Strasbourg Center Halles****.

All young lawyers selected to take part in the course will receive a contribution to their travel costs depending on the distance from which they travel.

Barcelona Bar Association participants will be paid the following contribution to their travel expenses: €340

Travel to Luxembourg and Strasbourg is organized and paid for by ERA.

Catering during the day is provided by ERA. Breakfast is included in the accommodation.
